Girls! I just love this Pie Pan! I want to recommend to you my favorite kind of pan to bake in, the Pyrex Pie Plate! I prefer to use a glass pan (or pie plate) with handles. I like to be able to see through to the crust, to see if it’s got that golden brown color that I like. It makes it so much easier to pull the pie in and out of the oven and of course to carry and serve it at the table.
If you’re interested in ordering the Pyrex Pie Plate I recommend my favorite online store Amazon!
Girls! I love this book! It’s full of tips, advice, recipes and all kinds of memory making ideas to get all of us motivated to be a blessing to our families! It’s a jam-packed homemakers companion and the first book that I know of that takes you on an adventure in homemaking through each week of the year! That’s 52 Weeks worth of great ideas!
In her own chatty style, Author Lynn Bowen Walker includes tips, recipes, advice, and more, for each season as well as all of the Holidays.
Here are some of the fun chapter titles: Here Come the Sun; Warm Weather Homemaking…The Seasons are Changing: Homemaking In The Fall….Company’s Coming! Hospitality…Giving Homemaking Our Best…Christmas Is Here! Last Minute Ideas.
The author does not strive for perfection (Yay!), but focuses more on how to create a loving and fun home! This is one book I highly recommend!

There are tons of photos, stories and the best part...southern-style recipes such as their refreshing Chopped Chef's Salad with Homemade Brown Bread Croutons and Ultra Creamy Mac and Cheese Casserole...and wait until you try their Peaches and Cream muffins...woo weee! That's some good eatin' right there! I"ve gotta go, I'm gettin' hungry!"
"Oh my goodness gals! I have found a cookbook that is a down-home dream come true! It's filled with over 150 comforting recipes and bless-your-heart stories of life in the south. There are full color photos on almost every page in old-fashioned settings that will make your heart swoon...you should see the picture of the Corn Pudding on page 95 with fresh ears of corn piled in the background! So homey! So delish! It truly is a delicious trip down memory lane!"
"I was so delighted when I found this book! Published by Country Living magazine, it has a similar charm as the Farm Chicks Book. There are "501 Old Fashioned Ideas To Simplify Your Life." It's filled with beautiful and charming color photos and chapters such as 'The Home That Welcomes'...'Behind The Scenes'...'In The Kitchen' and 'Harmony' (gardening). This is a must have for every farm-girl at heart! I'm sorry, I just have to say, I love this book so much I want to marry it!"
"Don't you just love Cath Kidston? Her products are so fresh and cheery! And who wouldn't love to get a letter in the mail with such joyful designs? I am working on a bulletin board right now and I love incorporating her papers and stickers as delightful backdrops! One of my favorite things to say is 'Beauty Inspires!'. These inspire me."
"When it comes to Cath Kidston more is better! Bright red and pink roses mixed with sassy polka-dot stationary and envelopes...such a delightful way to send someone a note to lift their spirit! I love the fresh cottage design and adorable sitckers!"
"I want to recommend to you my favorite kind of pan to bake in, the Pyrex Pie Plate! I prefer to use a glass pan (or pie plate) with handles. I like to be able to see through to the crust, to see if it's got that golden brown color that I like. It makes it so much easier to pull the pie in and out of the oven and of course to carry and serve it at the table."
"This is my all time favorite pan to cook with. Somehow the food tastes better and I love the even heat it produces while cooking. The other thing I love is that you can take it right to the table if you are having a casual- rustic dinner like tacos or Hillbilly Spaghetti Pie...it keeps the food hot for a long time and the extra handle on the end makes it so much easier to pick up and carry. This pan is ready to cook in, no pre-seasoning required. Grilled cheese sandwiches come out crunchy on the outside and gooey-cheese-y on the inside!"
"This 10 inch pan is just perfect for baking up a batch of good ol' southern cornbread! For perfect cornbread you start by oiling the pan with vegatable oil, set it on the stove, at medium temp, until hot, then pour the cornbread batter in. Immediately put the pan in a preheated 400 degree oven to bake (about 20 minutes or per your recipe instructions). By putting the batter in a hot pan you insure a crusty outside and a fluffy inside! Have that honey-butter ready!"
"Girls, out of all of the books on getting your home organized, this is one of my favorites! The subtitble reads: A complete guide to bringing order and beauty to your home. Author Sandra Felton has an easy, practical and humorous writing style, it's almost like listening to a girlfriend chatting on the phone! She talks about procrastination, goal setting and organizing without being overwhelming. Sandra is also an author that does not promote perfection, (life is too short to try to be perfect!) and yet she does not forfeit excellance. She'll give you a little kick-start to make your dream of a clean and tidy home are dream come true!"
"How adorable are cornbread sticks that look like ears of corn? Talk about farmhouse style! Besides being so cute, the corn-sticks are yummy if you like crunchy and chewy cornbread. I have two pans in order to have plenty to go around. This pan is not pre-seasoned, but it does comes with instructions which amounts to oiling the pan and putting it in a hot oven for an hour or so. Once seasoned, you want to be sure to pre-heat the oiled pan in the oven until hot before you pour in the batter to achieve a nice crust. It also helps to pour the batter from a pitcher to fill the pan. The more you use it the more non-stick it will become. This corny-styled pan is over 100 years old! Perfect for a farmhouse supper!"
"This is an "Oh, honey!" book! That's what I say when I see something too adorable! Oh, honey!! It's a sweet tiny book with a huge message. It's all about how God loves us. Here is a short sample: God is fond of you...If he had a wallet, your photo would be in it...if he had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it....He can live anywhere in the universe and he chose your heart....face it friend, He's crazy about you." The illustrations are as sweet as baby's breath. There is a hug on every page! It is full of wonderfulness, perfect to read to your kids or to give to someone, of any age, in need of a lot of love."
"Back in the 1800's to the 1950's flour came in cotton sacks. When the flour was used up homemakers would use the fabric for towels, cleaning cloths, bibs, pillow cases, clothes and many more uses! They are a great lint free cloth, perfect for drying dishes, dusting furniture, drying lettuce and veggies after washing, covering rising bread dough to keep it from drying out and protecting your pie from those pesky flies! I have a wooden bucket next to my kitchen sink stacked full of these old fashioned cotton towels...they are a must-have in every farmhouse!"
"Nothing says "Down-home" like a red and white checked tablecloth! I love this one because it's square and will fit any size table when you lay it in the center, on top of a full size white tablecloth, to add a punch of countrified color. This 52 X 52 size is also perfect for lining a picnic basket. Somehow farmhouse fixin's seem to taste better on a red checked tablecloth!"
"Reminiscent of a vintage kitchen tablecloth this apron couldn't be more adorable! Cheery pink polka-dots and red cherries would get any homemaker in the mood to cozy up her home! I like to tuck one of my flour sack towels in the front to make it handy for wiping my hands while preparing a meal or making a pie. I love the farm fresh country style!"
"This is one of the best every-thing-you-need-to-know-about-keeping-a-house books! From preparing food, cleaning, laundering, stocking your pantry, creating a safe environment, caring for floors and furniture, basic home sewing, emergency preparation, to setting the table and so much more. This treasury is jam packed with author Cheryl Mendelson's passion for domesticity."
"Ahhh...the good ol' summertime...cook-outs, vegetable gardens, ice-cold watermelons, picnics, fireflies....Susan Branch's Summer Book is dripping with hometown charm like golden honey from a hive. The pages are filled with yummy recipes, little stories, summertime memories and the most adorable illustrations ever! When the warm breezes begin to blow across the Ozark hills, I know it's time to set out The Summer Book on my kitchen counter as I celebrate this breathtaking time of year!"
"This folksy little booklet is a sweet sampler of recipes, stories, vintage photos and Grandmotherly advice. Rural American goodies such as Mrs. Beaman's Ginger Snaps, Farmer's Apple Cake, and Verna's Icebox Butter Buns are just a few of the homey treats found in this dear little book. If you like reading cookbooks this one takes the cake!"
"This is another darling little booklet from Barbara Swell. All of the recipes are vintage from the 1940's and 50's, probably ones that your mom or Grandma might have made! Along with Aunt Martha's Coconut Cream Pie, Mrs. Vaughan's Chess Pie and Lemon Sponge Pie, she also includes helpful pie hints, The Secret Of Why Men Love Pie, and how to host a pie contest. The Old photos and down-home advice makes this book just as sweet as pie!"
"There is something about a sassy little apron that can put a spring in your step when it comes to cleaning your home or preparing meals for your family. I always like to create a happy home atmosphere, by tying on a perky apron, turning the music on, and lighting a scented candle. We have to take care of our home anyway so why not do it with a good attitude? A happy mama, makes a happy home. This ruffled apron makes me happy!"
"If you look up the word adorable in the dictionary I'm pretty sure you'll find a picture of The Farm Chicks book! Every turn of the page is a delight to the eyes! Not only does it have recipes such as Cherry Breakfast Swirl, Butterscotch Pie, and Enchilada Soup, but there are darling storage tips and decorating ideas that will inspire you to doll up your home! Teri and Serena also share their fascinating life stories. They are just the sweetest farm-gals ever! Included in the book you also receive a free one year subscription to Country Living magazine! (You need to save your receipt and send it in with the subscription card!). LOVE IT!"
"Gals, can I just tell you, Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix is really a time saver, all you do is add water, that's it! It's a great product to have on hand for when you are running low on milk and eggs, or when you've been snowed in for a few days! They cook up light, fluffy and delicious! I keep my mix in my Anchor Hocking Glass Storage Jar right on my kitchen counter, so it's ready to go, easy as can be!"

"This pretty baby, in lipstick red, is the Queen of my kitchen! I use my KitchenAid several times a week. From whipped mashed potatoes, creamed yams, whipped cream, meatballs and meatloaf, cookie dough, pie dough, pie fillings, cake batter, frosting and brownies, this sweet thing does all the work and looks cute to boot! It's a little pricey but it will last a lifetime, and give you a lifetime of help in the kitchen! What gal wouldn't want that?"
