Congratulations Miss Amy from Picket Fence Cottage, you have won the Sugar Pie Sisterhood giveaway! When your package of goodies arrive, I hope you put your sassy little Mary Janes’s Farm apron on and stir up something sweet to eat! Many blessings to you my Sugar Pie Sista!
I want to send out a big THANK YOU to all of you gals (my new sista’s!) for signing up for the Sugar Pie Sisterhood! I hope y’all liked the newsletter I sent a few days ago! And I also want to thank all of you for the absolutely fabulous, heartwarming, encouraging and sparkling comments you left for me! WOW! What a way to make a girl feel special! I am so glad y’all like the new look! (I’m so proud of my boy!)Please keep in mind that this is just the beginning of more to come! A couple of gals mentioned that they wanted to see photos of my home…I’m happy to say, it’s in the works! Along with more recipes, videos, product recommendations and a few more surprises up my sleeve! Please know that it’s just little ol’ me working on Sugar Pie Farmhouse (with some help from Dusty after he’s worked hard all day at his job) so it is going to take a little time for me to add all of the fun stuff that I am envisioning.
You know, my mission is to encourage homemakers of all ages to turn their hearts back home and create a warm and cozy nest for their loved ones, so I have to make double sure that I keep my own home and family as my priority. I am a homemaker, just like you, with a lot of responsiblilities like doing the laundry, cooking, taking care of my home, grocery shopping, Doctor’s appointments, school events, church activities, spending time with my hubby and kids, maintaining friendships, getting some walking in, and of course spending time with the Lord and reading my Bible (and lots of other stuff!). In our home, we have decided that after dinner is family time, so I don’t get back on the computer until the next day. I know y’all understand! The good news is that slowly but surely, as the weeks go by, you will see more and more new ideas to help you make your house a Home Sweet Home! Thank you for being patient!
Talk About Sweet!
Isn’t it wonderful that fresh strawberries are now gracing the produce section of the grocery store? Oh happy day!
I want to share with you one of my favorite dips that goes lusciously with these juicy red berries!
There are only two ingredients!! One jar of Marshmallow Creme and one 12 oz. tub of regular Cream Cheese.
I use my mini Cuisinart Chopper (See it on Amazon!) to whip it together. Because it is so thick, you need to pulse it a few times then open the lid to stir it with a spoon, repeat a few times until creamy. You could also use an electric mixer to whip the two ingredients together.
This is so simple yet the flavor is so delicious!
Fresh washed strawberries and this easy fruit dip is a wonderful treat the whole family will love! This would be an easy and yummy addition to your Easter Celebration! Enjoy!
This Easter as you savor the chocolate bunnies and the Easter egg hunts with baskets full of jelly bean-giggles, be sure to savor hope, mercy, grace and love. That’s what the Cross brings to all of us. Jesus left the glory of Heaven to come to this earth to take the punishment for sins He did not commit so that we could be with Him for eternity. He could not bear the thought of living forever without us so He died for our sins…that is how much He loves us. The Bible says that the payment for sin is death….. He took our place. Such love…such wonderous love!
This twig cross was made by my daughter Ashley about 15 years ago, I bring it out every year to remind us of the true meaning of Easter. Notice that Jesus is no longer hanging on the cross…because the wonderful news is He rose from the dead and is now preparing a place for us far beyond anything we could ever imagine!
“There are many rooms in my Father’s house; I would not tell you this if it were not true.”
– John 14:2
“It is finished!” He cried. And the great Creator went home. (He’s not resting though. Word has it that His tireless hands are preparing a city so glorious even the angels get goose bumps upon seeing it. Considering what He has done so far, that is one creation I plan to see.)” ~Max Lucado
Have a Blessed Easter!
Hugs!
Aunt Ruthie
I love seeing the fantastic things you create and trying your recipes, and I find you a true inspiration as I am beginning to keep my home and take care of my new husband and infant son (named Jeremiah, after Jeremiah 29:11!) I appreciate your positive attitude and your neat little tips!
Keep up the wonderful work. I can’t wait to see what you come up with next!

Thanks for sharing the beautiful cross made by your daughter so many years ago. One of my complaints about the Easter season is that all of the decorations are bunnies, bunnies, bunnies – one starts to feel like you are living in a baby’s room! The Easter season is not all about bunnies and baby chicks! I love to go to church on Easter morning – it is silly, but tears of joy usually run down my face just experiencing the love of Our Saviour on this day! On another note; I am SO enjoying your new website! Keep up the good work girl! You and I have lots in common – I have grown children and an 8-year-old daughter to still raise – isn’t it a joy?
I can’t believe it! I am sooooo excited and honored to have won this fantastic and generous give-away! As I said in my email to you, I really do believe that sometimes the Lord knows just when we need an extra special little blessing! Thank you so much for blessing me! I can’t wait to wear my new apron and whip up something yummy! I’ll think of you every single time I do !! LOL And I KNOW I’ll enjoy all the other delightful goodies as well!
Thanks again, Ruthann! You’re a sweetie pie…and a kindred spirit!!!
Hugs,
Amy
Congrats Miss Amy!…Lucky girl you! lol. I love this site and can’t wait to see all the wonderful things you are working on Aunt Ruthie!
Those strawberries look so inviting, think I need to run to the store!
I just love each and every post you put on and I want you to know how much we all appreciate all your hard work. Thank you so much for encouraging us keepers at home, teaching and training our children for the Glory of God!
I love you site and am really looking forward to seeing all the goodies you have up your sleeve. Congratulations Miss Amy!
I love your site and am really looking forward to seeing all the goodies you have up your sleeve. Congratulations Miss Amy!
Good Morning Miss Ruthann
i just had to comment on the new look and how wonderful it is to have you on our lives, i know how much time it takes to have a Christian family and to keep built up in the Lord! i have a brood too, 8, 6 boys and 2 girls, 4 have flown mommas nest and 4 little fledglings still here Christie 20, Dakota 18, Josiah 16, and my little late to hatch egg Sammy 9, and so I am constantly challanged and and asking the Lord for help. Jesus said that we are living epistles, and that we carry a Treasure in an earthan vessel and Ruthann you are doing that and more in a most unique way! You don’t ask for anything in return and you freely give, what a way to honor your Savior and Lord Jesus, right there in the BEAUTIFUL HOME,and family that He alone has given you. I treasure the time that i get to spend with you and your family that you have so humbly allowed us to enjoy and only a sister full of Jesus could do this. May the Lord continue to bless you and your family for along long time so we can keep getting blessed too, thru you.
beyond that you and i have so much in common, i miss disneyland and knottsberry farm too as i grew up there myself. and want to marry all of that old time livin on main street in DL, and the old west in KBF. i am so into my home, and my kids, and my adorable Ranger (U.S.ARMY special ops) husband that lays it all down everyday to keep all of us at home safe from the bad guys and hidden things in the outer most parts of our world. he is my earthly hero and like your sweet husband, he is so funny and such a kind patient person. Ruthann thank you for being there, and always surprising, and inspiring us, but mostly encourageing us, to do God’s work in our family, and home to keep our country and world strong ,thru the family unit which is God’s design for a strong country and people, i just hope others see the message that you are sending, and pray for more to log on, and stop searching for their calling and fulfilment, in all the wrong places, like little , taking care of our little lamps, and not distracted by the world and all that glitters and fades and leaves us empty a trick of the enemy the devil. God bless and keep you, you little sweetie ,our Ruthann
As always Love in Jesus

Thank you so much for sharing with us. I just visiting your blog and getting inspired with all you share with us. Have a great Easter. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
Hello. I know you have just a zillion comments left for you, but I have to include mine. Your blog has been my greatest inspiration. Your Faith in Christ, your love of family and friends, love of your home, and just all-around fun-loving spirit is a breath of fresh air. I have been following you since last Nov, and with your unknown help, started publishing my own blog. I love it, I have made so many good friends, and learned so much!
Anyway, your blog is just the best. And now you’ve moved on to bigger and better and we are just tagging along right behind you. So keep up the great work, know you mean so much to so many. Thank you!
Have a Blessed Easter, Karen
Congrats to Amy….lucky girl…enjoy

I am so happy I found your blog! It’s inspirational and beautiful. I will be checking back often.
Thank you for the recipe! It looks good AND easy!
Happy Easter to you.
Debbie
I loved the newsletter that you sent out a few days ago. You are so right on about everything. I’ve made it a habit to make sure that everyones sheets are washed every week. I have a schedule (we have 6 beds that need to be done) and I keep to it. All of our bedrooms are clean and fairly organized. It is so lovely to slip into clean, fresh sheets every night.
I am really looking forward to your future posts. Our spirits are so hungry for the kind of things that you are passionate about. The “world” tries to pull us away from our familiesand homes by making us feel put upon or less than our best somehow if we choose to be homemakers and dedicate our lives to our families. I can’t tell you how encouraged I feel after reading what you have to say. There was a time in my life, not so long ago, when I asked myself..”Is this all I am? A wife and Mother?” Now I thank God everyday that he has blessed me so greatly. What else could I be doing that is more important than what is right here .. in my own home.
I’ve made that recipe for the fruit dip before. You’re right! It’s yummy. I have one that I should share on my blog sometime… takes it to a whole other level… LOL!
Take care and please know that I am praying for you (and your family) and all that you are trying to accomplish here on your website. (now aren’t you sorry that you didn’t pick me to win the giveaway!!?? *angry eyes*.. I kid, I kid… )
Congratulations to Amy!! :)
Take care and God Bless!
Laura
That dip will be on my menu! Thank you — sounds yummy :)
Easter is amazing on so many levels…one is that we’ll someday get to meet Christian “sistas” like you. Oh, won’t that be fun?!
I’ve been thinking of you a lot since yesterday when I ran into Cracker Barrel to buy nostalgic candy for Easter baskets. I bought 2 bluegrass cds and the down-home music (I’ve always loved) now reminds me of sweet “Aunt Ruthie”.
Easter Blessings from our home to yours!
Thank you for posting a picture of the empty Cross. Tho seeing our Savior on it is a huge reminder of incredible love, the empty Cross is the Miracle! Happy Resurrection Day to you and all you love! xo
Congrats to the winner!
I hope everyone has a lovely Easter.
Thank you so much for your beautiful and inspiring blog. Have a beautiful and blessed Easter!!
Happy Easter RuthAnn! We are off to the Crosswalk tomorrow. Thanks for your inspiring post! Hope your Easter weekend is a warm and blessed family time. Blessings from Murrieta
Have a wonderful and joyful Easter with your family. It is such a glorious day to celebrate as without Jesus’ death & ressurection we could not live.
I am so enjoying your new site and can’t wait to see what all you share next.
Many Blessings to you and your family,
Jennifer
Thank you for sharing homemaking encouragement – and Jesus with us!
Is it okay to post that you are my cousin and I’m very proud of you and encouraged by you? I absolutely love looking at your blog, website, etc. or whatever you call it. There is always some encouraging words that I take away just for me! Love you Ruth Ann. What an inspiration you are to so many women!
Wow, I feel like I’ve died and gone to housewife heaven. This is such an amazing blog. I enjoy looking over all your wonderful ideas. Your blog has really helped me with baking tips. I’ve been trying to master the perfect pie and I can’t wait to try out your pie crust recipe for Easter Sunday. You have been a true blessing. Have a super Easter weekend.
God Bless,
Gigi P.S. You have the most adorable daughter.

I absoultely love that dip, I have been making it for years and it is awesome on fresh strawberries…..
I hope everyone will give it a try……I have always used regular cream cheese, softened, but I think the tub one would work better and will try that next..
Brenda
You and yours have a marvelous Easter, too. I so enjoyed seeing my favorite scripture mentioned in your post. Congrats to your winner! I know that she’s gonna feel so blessed.
I love that cross that your daughter made. Isn’t it funny how we hang on to things like that.?… I have a paper candy cane that my daughter made in preschool and she’s now 31… I also have a “sculpture” of interlocking hearts that my son carved out of a milk carton square of plaster of paris (the size given to the children at school)… he’s 33. Both mean more than any high dollar item they could buy me…cause it came from their hearts.
Easter is such a wonderful time of the year… a beautiful reminder of what Christ did for us… have a blessed holiday….
Great post. I loved your Mrs. Knott’s chicken dinner photo. When my parents were newly married, they moved from Missouri to So. California and they would go to Mrs. Knott’s for chicken dinner quite often back then. Of course, that was back when it really was a berry farm! They’ve been married almost 61 years now, and still doing well.
Blessings,
Marcia
What a sweet post…love the dip recipe you share here…am going to try it out. Congrats to the lucky winner. Have a wonderful Easter.
Hi:) Congrats on your great new place!

In May, there will be some fun blogs coming from Disney World. I hope to blog every night, in case you like a good trip report. There will also be a Disney giveaway. I am so thankful for all my new friends.

Dear Auntie Ruthie,
I will certainly try this dip for strawberries.
It has gotta taste really great.
Blessings to you,
Deanna from the Kansas Flinthills
Thank you for the vintage photos you always include on your site. They always made feel tranquil and your inspirational thoughts give me solace. Aunt Ruthie, I was dissapointed that I never received your newsletter. I joined the sisterhood weeks before the deadline. Please dont get me wrong, I’m just a big fan of yours.
Ruthie, you and the family have a glorious Easter. I am sure your home will be smelling good and kind words and prayers will be abounding:-)
I just love your blog! It is so nice to see other women like me that strive to make their home and family the main priority in their lives. That strawberry dip looks absolutely delicious! We will have to try that one some time. Have a very happy Easter, and thank you for reminding us what Easter is all about. Not about the Easter bunny, or egg hunts, or even just going to church just because it is Easter, , but about Jesus! He was no ordinary man! Up from the grave he arose!! Beth.
Dear Auntie Ruthie,
I too hope you and your family will have a glorious Easter. My son will come home from his training and hopefully he will bring his fellow marines with him. They are from Missouri! Praying that I will make it a special haven for them as they come and celebrate Easter at our home since they cannot be their families. It is such an honor. Thank you for your wonderful insight in your newsletter. I’ve printed it and later will place it in it’s binder! God Bless you! Delia
I want to tell you I have been reading your blog for a while. I was raised with six brothers and really didn’t learn a lot of the practical housekeeping things. I really never had a love for housekeeping. I did it because I have to. But you have shown me I should embrace it and think of it as an outpouring of love for my family. I work full time as my husband and myself own a resturant. I now feel I love for the simply things of home. So many things you show and talk about are things that I have always longed for. Thanks so much for you time to share with others this special gift God has given you.
Congratulations…Miss Amy!!!!! What is a wonderful treat for you to recieve this fun gift from such an inspiring lady…I am really enjoying this new look and love the newsletters….I really ♥ that home and family are treated with such importance….in this world today we are seeing it less and less….I am so thankful for mine and also for the true meaning of the easter season….HAPPY EASTER TO YOU ALL!
Miss Ruthie!! Thank you again….you are soooo inspiring.. After 16 years of marriage and 15 as a SAHM you renew my sense of importance to my family and inspire me to be an even better homemaker. Time and again things get dull and the routine seems like it goes on and on forever but then I read your posts and I walk away so refreshed. God bless you and the work you are doing here…can’t wait for the next post! ~Happy Easter y’all!!
Happy Easter Aunt Ruthie!
Thank you for another lovely post!
God bless you.
Michelle

Have loved that simple recipe for years! For a yummy variation, add a touch of canned pineapple juice.
Great new website!
Thank you for the beautiful message. Twyla
Thank you for sharing your recipes and inspiring words. I have been enjoying your blog since I found it. God bless!
Yet another great post Ruth Ann! You have really helped me get back to taking care of my home. I have had some sad events that have caused me to not care about daily responsibilities. You have helped me get back on track. My home and taking care of myself and my husband have always been important to me. Thank you for inspiring me back to my senses.
For some reason, the wonderful music you have playing on your site isn’t working for me anymore. I miss that. Not sure what I need to do to get it working again. I removed quick time and reinstalled thinking that would help, but it just shows a quick time icon with a question mark on it.
Have a wonderful Easter enjoying your beautiful family!
Oh my Goodness
so many things to see and try at home.

Ruthann, that dip is one I’ll have to make soon! And what a beautiful cross Ashley made all these years ago. I love that she placed a heart where Jesus hung.
